| Description | Railway Viaduct. Built for the Great Central Railway c.1895/7. Blue engineering brick construction. 3 round headed arches spanning Swithland Reservoir. Also, separate Road Bridge. Blue/buff banded engineering brick retaining wall, piers and abutments. Twin rail track carried on built up steel beams. 2 independent spans arranged in parallel. Distinctive diamond trellis pattern steel balustrading between brick abutments. |
