People are being encouraged not to miss this year’s stunning display of bluebells at the Outwoods in Loughborough.

The fantastic display at the north side of the ancient woodland which flourishes each year is expected to only be in bloom over the next couple of weeks.

Charnwood Borough Council and its open spaces partner idverde will be hosting the annual ranger-led bluebell walk on Friday April 26.

The guided walk will start at 10am from the Outwoods car park on Woodhouse Lane and people are asked to meet near the large information board. The hour-long walk is about a mile and includes a couple of inclines.

Similar to every year, the walk is expected to be popular, and visitors are advised the car park may be busy.

For more information about the bluebell walk please contact the Ranger Service on Charnwood.rangerservice@idverde.co.uk or 07890999176.

The Outwoods is 110 acres of ancient woodland to the south of Loughborough and is one of the oldest surviving woodland sites in Charnwood.

Responsibility of the Outwoods lies with the Outwoods Management Committee which is a separate body to the Council. However, the Council effectively maintains the Outwoods working alongside the committee.
