Starting a Food Business
Setting up a food business will require a great deal of thought in order to avoid practical, economic and legal pitfalls. We are here to help guide you to achieve a good standard of food hygiene.
Registration
Firstly you will need to register your new food business with us. Click on the attachment and download a copy of the form. Return a signed copy to the Directorate of Housing and Health, Commercial Group, Food Hygiene and Safety, Southfields, Southfield Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire LE11 2TX. Food Safety Management
New food hygiene regulations took effect from 2006 now apply to your business. The Regulations include for the first time a requirement for you to document how you manage food safety. A food safety management pack called Safer Food Better Business has been developed to help small catering businesses such as restaurants, cafés and takeaways comply with new regulations. A new retailers pack is now also available.
