The Council has re-introduced the Community Facilities Grant scheme for a 3-year period from 2012-2015. As part of this, a Feasibility Studies grant scheme has also been introduced.

Core Features of the Grants

Type of Funding

The Community Facilities Grant scheme supports the renovation, improvement and provision of community buildings, and also small-scale environmental improvement schemes.

The Feasibility Studies Grant scheme provides support with the commissioning of feasibility studies as part of the development plan to under take substantial refurbishment or propose a new-build community facility.

Who May Apply?

Properly constituted voluntary and community organisations.

What Are the Limits on the Funding?

The Community Facilities Grant scheme awards grants of up to £20,000, to a maximum of 50% of the cost of the project. 

The Feasibility Studies Grant scheme awards grants of up to £5,000, to a maximum of 50% of the cost of the study.

What Is the Decision Making Process?

The Council's Cabinet determines Community Facilities Grants and Feasibility Studies Grants, and applications are considered in rounds, more details of which are set out in the guidance documents.

Applicants are advised to submit applications as early as possible, to ensure that there is enough time for the Grants Administrator to request further information if needed before applications are assessed.  If applications are submitted shortly before or on the deadline, we cannot guarantee that they will be checked before being assessed.
