The Borough Council has received recommendations from an Independent Remuneration Panel in respect of the basic and special responsibility allowances paid to councillors, effective from 12th May 2009 (report attached).
Further to this, the Borough Council has accepted the Panel's recommendations and has amended the scheme of allowances in accordance with the Panel's recommendations (scheme attached).
The Council believes in openess and transparency. Each year the Council publishes the amount paid to Councillors and Independent Members in allowances and the amounts claimed in expenses.
Claims and payments made for the following financial years (April through to the following March) are attached: 2008 - 2009; 2007 - 2008; 2006 - 2007; 2005 - 2006; 2004 - 2005; 2003 - 2004; 2002 - 2003.
