Strategic Housing Market Assessment

Leicester and Leicestershire Local Authorities commissioned B.Line Housing Information, Three Dragons and Rural Solutions to undertake a Strategic Housing Market Assessment. The assessment provides an assessment of future housing need and demand for the period to 2026 and sets out the implications for housing and spatial planning policy. It will be used to inform the preparation of regional and local planning policy.

The study was published in December 2008 and is available to download below:

Older People's Housing Strategy

Whilst the SHMAA provides information about the housing needs of older people this does not take account of their aspirations. In recognition of this, the Leicester and Leicestershire Housing Market Partnership (HMA) and EMRA commissioned The Salford Housing & Urban Studies Unit to undertake a qualitative assessment of the future housing needs and aspirations of older people across Leicestershire to inform the development of strategic services for this section of the population.
