Description | Originally a Private House for William Clarke. Now student accommodation. Late C19, possibly 1880. Various C20 alterations. Freestyle combination of Tudor/Gothic and Domestic Revival. Red brick with terra-cotta string course/hood moulds. Multi gabled pitched clay tile roof. Decorated half timbering to gables above stacked canted bays. Also to spandrils. Decorated barge boards and deep eaves. 2 storey Gothic Revival timber verandah structure fronts main elevation. 3 storeys including accommodation within roof space. Tudor style stacks with angled shafts and corbelled heads Generally, heavy section timber casement windows with top lights but many replaced |
