Businesses are being invited to learn more about progress being made on Loughborough Town Deal while networking with local leaders during a free event.

The Delivering the Deal business lunch - taking place on March 1 - will offer an informal update on how the programme is developing – including projects completed and others progressing at pace.

The programme is supported by £16.9 million from the Government's Towns Fund and is backing a series of projects boosting skills, regenerating the town and supporting the visitor economy.

In total, the projects will bring more than £40m of investment into the town.

A limited number of free places are available. All you need to do to attend is register your interest.

The Town Deal Board will announce guest speakers closer to the event, however organisers aim to invite senior figures connected with the Town Deal project and the associated Midlands Levelling Up agenda.

Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL, Chair of Loughborough Town Deal Board, said: "As well as providing a briefing for business leaders, the lunch will provide opportunities for regional business networking, fostering further opportunities for collaboration.

"Common interests, including trends shaping the town's economic future and overcoming shared challenges, are also likely to be in focus as topics of discussion for those attending."

Delivering The Deal will take place at SportPark Pavilion 4, on the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP), on Friday, 1 March 2024.

After arrivals and networking, visitors will receive a short update on progress being made on projects sitting under the Loughborough Town Deal.

As well as hearing from the Chair, guest speakers leading the work of key projects will also provide an update on progress.

Lunch will follow, together with time for further networking before the event closes at 2pm.

"We expect the lunch to be a good opportunity to meet and discuss ways that we can work together on more ideas to move the town forward," added Dr Kotecha.
