Below are a list of emergency contacts for the council, the emergency services and the utility services.


Emergency contact during normal office hours

For all non-council housing emergencies during normal office hours* call the main switchboard on 01509 263151 or contact the service you require.

If you have an emergency for the following services outside of Council opening hours*:

This number is a local rate number meaning you will only be charged for a local call.

Utility services

If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, call the 24 hour emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999.

If your emergency involves electricity then please call 0800 404090.


Powercuts - 105

On September 6, 2016, a new national phone number '105' was launched for customers to report or get information about a power cut in their area. 105 is a free service for people in England, Scotland and Wales.
