The Love the outdoors in Charnwood photo competition is back for 2024!

Charnwood residents of all ages are invited to enter the Love the outdoors in Charnwood photo competition by grabbing their cameras and capturing snaps at their favourite park or open space in Charnwood.

Entries for this competition will close at 5pm on Tuesday August 27, 2024.

Categories

Open category

Whether you want to capture the amazing rock faces as the sunsets at Morley Quarry in Shepshed or want to share a photo of your favourite place to walk in the borough, this category is open to any resident aged 16 and above. 

Young photographer

Youngsters are encouraged to head out and explore the outdoors and capture a photo of their favourite park or open space. The young photographer category is open to any resident under the age of 16.

Wonderful wildlife 

From the Red and Fallow Deer at Bradgate Park to the beautiful mandarin duck sometimes spotted in Queen's Park, no matter how big or small, we want to see your photos of the wonderful wildlife in Charnwood! This category is open to all residents in Charnwood. Please do not disturb any wildlife while capturing photos.

Prizes

There were a number of prizes up for grabs for the winner and two runners-up in each category:

  • Winner - £50 Love Loughborough voucher
  • Runners-up - £25 Love Loughborough voucher

Terms and conditions

Here are the terms and conditions for the Love the outdoors in Charnwood photo competition:

By entering in the competition, it is deemed that the entrant has accepted the terms and conditions detailed below.

The competition is open to all residents in the borough, but exclude all Charnwood Borough Council employees and their relatives and employees of any Council partners and their relatives.

  • The competition is open to all residents living in the borough, but exclude all Charnwood Borough Council employees, and their relatives, employees of any Council partners and their relatives and professional photographers
  • Third-party entries or bulk entries will be accepted. The council reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and the prize may be withheld until and unless the council is satisfied with the verification.
  • Entries should be submitted via www.charnwood.gov.uk/photo
  • Entrants can upload one photo per category.
  • Entries need to be of recent photos taken in the last six months.
  • Entries not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid.
  • Entries must include their name, the category they are entering, a contact email address and phone number (of a parent or guardian if under 16) and the location of where the photo was taken.
  • Each winner will be notified by email or phone after the competition closes.
  • All entries could be featured on the Council’s communication channels.
  • By entering this competition, entrants confirm they own the copyright to the photo(s) and they have obtained permission from any individuals featured in the images to share the photos with the council.
  • The prize is awarded conditionally upon acceptance and if a winner is unable to be contacted after 28 days or if any prize is unclaimed or declined within a reasonable period, the prize shall be deemed as unclaimed or unaccepted and a supplementary winner may be chosen at the council's discretion.
  • The Council will not be responsible for any inability of a prize winner to take up the specified prize.
  • The Council reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of similar value should the specified prize become unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control. Cash or credit alternatives will not be offered. The prize is not transferable.
  • Incomplete entries and entries received after the competition closing date will be disqualified from the competition.
  • Entrants' data will be collected, stored and processed for the purposes of administering and assessing competitions. The council shall take all reasonable care to ensure that it complies with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Council reserves the right to suspend, cancel, postpone or amend the competition and/or review and revise these terms and conditions.
