Flooding update - January 6

We are continuing to support communities impacted by flooding in Charnwood. 

Here is some further information:

  • Today (Saturday, January 6) we are carrying out black bin and bulky waste collections from properties most affected by the flooding in Syston (West St, Brookside, Trinity Close, College Road, University Close)
  • Local volunteers from British Red Cross and the The Salvation Army United Kingdom and Ireland Territory will be in the pub car park of the Boat Inn, Meadow Lane, Loughborough today, 10am-3pm, to support nearby residents whose homes have been directly and internally affected by the flooding. They will be offering advice, support and help with replacing some water damaged items where possible.
  • Street cleaning continues in various places across the borough
  • Flood alerts remain in place for the Lower River Soar in Leicestershire and River Wreake in Leicestershire. There are no longer any flood warnings in Charnwood
  • Queen's Park in Loughborough remains closed both today and tomorrow due to flooding. Charnwood Museum which is situated in the park is also still closed
