PROPOSED PUBLIC REALM IMPROVEMENTS FOR LOUGHBOROUGH TOWN CENTRE
Would you like to Have your Say on the way Loughborough Town Centre looks? If yes, why not attend an exhibition about our proposals for public realm improvementsto Loughborough Town Centre.
Working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, we hope these improvements will make the area more attractive for shoppers and visitors, and more comfortable and safe for pedestrians and cyclists.
You will see from the attached plans that the proposals include new paving, street furniture, planting and public art and involve changes to Bedford Square, Wards End, Devonshire Square, Granby Street and the A6 between Baxter Gate and Swan Street. The ideas also look at how the existing pedestrianised area of the Market Place, Market Street and Ashby Square can be revitalised.
The proposals will be exhibited at 13/14 Market Street, Loughborough from Wednesday 10th December until Saturday 13th December. The exhibition will be open between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm each day.
Officers from the Borough and County Councils will be available to explain the proposals and to answer questions. We would welcome your views on the proposals and your ideas on what else we can do to make the town centre a place for everyone to enjoy and take pride in. If you are a local business, we would be particularly interested in your comments on the likely impact of the proposals on your activity, for instance on service and customer access.
If you are unable to attend the exhibition, you can complete the onine comments form below or alternatively e-mail us at consultation@charnwood.gov.uk.
The consultation closes on Monday 5th January 2009.
