The next Bank Holiday is the Easter weekend (Friday March 29 – Monday April 1, 2024).
As a result of the Bank Holiday, there will be some changes to services and facility opening hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Please note: While there are changes to the opening hours of the office and availability over the phone, our online forms are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Council offices at Southfields
The main council office building at Southfields is currently open to customers on an appointment-only basis. It will close at 4pm on Thursday, March 28 and remain closed until 9am on Tuesday, April 2.
Please call 01509 634560 if you wish to request an appointment next week, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday.
Customer services
The Council's telephone service will open until 4pm on Thursday, March 28 and remain closed until 9am on Tuesday April 2.

Other services at the council offices
Jobcentre Plus will close at 5pm on Thursday, March 28 and remain closed until 9am on Tuesday, April 2.
Refuse collections
Refuse, recycling and garden waste collections will not be affected by the Easter Bank Holiday.
Bulky waste collections
Details on the types of bulky waste collections and the online form for booking a collection can be found on the bulky waste webpage.
Bookings
Bookings for upholstered/soft furnishing bulky waste collections are currently closed until 9am on Tuesday April 2.
Booking for standard bulky waste collections will close at 2pm on Thursday, March 28. They will reopen at 9am on Tuesday April 2.
Collections
Collections for standard bulky waste collections will take place from 6am on Saturday March 30.
Collections for upholstered/soft furnishing bulky waste collections will take place Tuesday April 2, Wednesday April 3, Thursday April 4.
For all collections, please leave your items outside of your property until they are collected and make sure that your items are ready for collection at 6am on the day of your booking.
Commercial waste service changes
Commercial waste collections will take place on Saturday March 30 instead of Monday April 1.
