Home to various wildlife and offering views of the Great Central Railway trainline, this is the perfect place to walk, run or to simply enjoy being amongst local nature. 

Charnwood Water is a lake surrounded by trees and a circular footpath just short of one mile. It is around 27 acres and used mainly for leisure purposes. It also offers visitors several places to sit and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Many families enjoy visiting Charnwood Water but the site is also very popular site with dog walkers and runners.

The Tuckers Road entrance to Charnwood Water can be easily accessed by foot, bicycle, car or bus. Visitors can also access the site by foot and bicycle via the footpath from Leicester Road. 

Please note: There are no public toilets at Charnwood Water.

Car parking

Charnwood Water is situated off Tuckers Road, Loughborough, LE11 2PH and there is a free car park available.

The car park is open from 7.30am-9pm.

Fishing at Charnwood Water

Fishing is available at Charnwood Water between June and March. Tickets can be purchased either as a day ticket or a season ticket and are to be shown to a Water Bailiff when asked.

Leicestershire Radio Yacht Club

The Leicestershire Radio Yacht Club (LRYC) have the use of Charnwood Water on an annual agreement basis. The club has been racing model yachts at Charnwood Water for over 20 years.
