This former clay pit is situated off Tuckers Road, Loughborough, LE11 2PH and covers an area of some 27.12 acres.

It is used mainly for leisure purposes by the general public and has both a car park and disabled toilets.

Temporary opening procedures since May 13, 2020: 

  • Car park open from 7.30am to Dusk 9pm
  • Toilets are closed
  • Signs in place to remind people about social distancing

Fishing at Charnwood Water

Ticket prices for fishing at Charnwood Water are available in either a day ticket or a season ticket and are to be shown to a Water Bailiff when asked. These are joint tickets also entitling ticket holders to fish at Dishley Pool. Prices for each are as follows:

  • Day Tickets:
    • Adults per rod: £6.20
    • Concessionary per rod: £3.10
  • Season Tickets:
    • Adult: £63
    • Concessionary: £31.50

The Model Yacht Club have the use of Charnwood Water on an annual agreement basis.

Summary of regulations

Use of lead shot: Due to the detrimental effect of lead on wildlife, anglers are requested not to use lead shot but to use one of the non-toxic substances now available.

Fishing shall be from the bank only within the limits described. Permit holders must use the approved access routes only and must keep within the permitted area.

This permit must be produced on request and all anglers must have a valid Environment Agency Rod License.

Fishing commences June 16 and finishes March 15.

Chamwood Borough Council do not accept liability for any loss, damage or Injury to persons or property whilst on the Authority's land.

Anglers entering the Authority's property and fishing at Chamwood Water do so at their own risk.

Unhooking mats needed for carp and pike.
