EU Referendum 2016

Residents in Leicester and its outlying areas, including Birstall, Thurmaston and Wanlip in Charnwood, are to be asked to continue to follow stricter lockdown restrictions for at least two weeks, and non-essential shops will be closed. The EU Referendum took place on Thursday, June 23, 2016.

The local total for Charnwood was as follows:

  • Remain: 43,500
  • Leave: 50,672.
  • Turnout: 70.46%
