What is street-related anti-social behaviour?

Alcohol and Street drinking can be associated with antisocial behaviour, this can include rowdy and nuisance behaviour, harassment and intimidation of passers-by, as well as littering with cans and bottles.

Charnwood Borough Council have a Public Space Protection Order covering a specific area in Loughborough Town Centre.

Begging

Aggressive begging occurs when beggars sit and beg near cash machines and at the entrances of commercial premises (retail outlets, banks and cafes, etc.) and intimidate members of the public and business owners by their presence.

Aggressive begging may also occur when beggars approach members of the public asking for money and verbally abuse them or display behaviours with the intention of causing intimidation.

Drug paraphernalia and the disposal of needles

We understand that discarded needles are a significant concern for people living, working in and visiting Loughborough Town Centre. This can have a negative psychological impact, particularly for residents.

Discarded drugs paraphernalia also presents a health and safety issue for any person coming into contact with it. 

Needles, syringes, and other drug related litter left on either council owned land or adopted public highways can be removed by the Council. You can request the removal of needles and sharps via the online form below:
