Core Strategy Issues and Options

The Council sent a draft version of the Core Strategy to key stakeholders in June 2005 to gain their initial views. It set out the broad issues and options for growth in the Borough and asked for their comments during June and July. A copy of the document and a summary of the comments we received can be downloaded below.

Sustainability Appraisal

A draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report was published for consultation with key stakeholders in July 2005. The Scoping Report sets the scope and level of detail of the information that will be included in the sustainability appraisal reports for Core Strategy and Science Park Development Plan Documents. It includes:

• The objectives of other relevant plans and strategies that will be taken into account;
• An environmental, social and economic baseline statement for Charnwood;
• Identifies sustainability issues for Charnwood;
  
• Sets out how sustainability objectives, sustainability framework and method for undertaking sustainability appraisal.
