Amenity standards for licensable HMOs

This page provides information about the amenity standards for licensable HMOs in Charnwood.

Up to four occupants

At least one bathing facility and one WC with a wash hand basin (WHB). The bathroom, WC and WHB may be combined.

Up to five occupants

One bathroom and one separate WC with WHB. The the WC can be contained within a second bathroom.

Six to eight occupants

Two bathing facilities, two WHBs and two WCs. they may be contained within two combined bathrooms.

Nine – 10 occupants

Two bathing facilities, two separate WCs and three WHBs (the WC’s cannot be contained within the bathrooms. If there are two combined bathrooms’, then an alternative would be to provide an additional separate WC).

11 – 12 occupants

Three bathing facilities, three WCs and three WHBs (the bathroom, WC and WHB may be contained within three combined bathrooms)
