Interments
The Interment Fee includes digging the grave.
For interment in any part of Loughborough Cemetery:
Of the body or body parts of a still-born or of a child who at the time of death had not attained the age of 4 years:
- Loughborough Resident = NO CHARGE
- Resident of Charnwood Borough = £156
- Non Charnwood Resident = £234
Of the body of a child who at the time of death was aged 4 years but had not attained the age of 18 years:
- Loughborough Resident = NO CHARGE
- Resident of Charnwood Borough = £222
- Non Charnwood Resident = £333
Of the body of a person who at the time of death was 18 years and over:
- Loughborough Resident = £575
- Resident of Charnwood Borough = £1,150
- Non Charnwood Resident = £1,725
- Muslim Cage – Additional Charge = £320
Of cremated remains:
- Any Residents (under 18 years of age) = NO CHARGE
- Loughborough Resident (18 years and over) = £121
- Resident of Charnwood Borough = £242
- Non Charnwood Resident = £363
- Scattering of cremated remains – Residents/Non-Residents = £36
In a vaulted or walled grave:
- Loughborough Resident = £700
- Resident of Charnwood = £1,4000
- Non Charnwood Resident = £2,100
Exhumation of Confined Body = £4,500
Please note: If a burial is to be carried out on a Saturday, double interment fees are charged.

Selection Fee: 50% on surcharge on exclusive rights of burial plots
Pre-purchase of grave or cremation plots is not permitted.

Miscellaneous charges
Searches of Burial Register
- Copy of each entry in the Burial Register where death occurred, within five years of search = NO CHARGE
- Change of grave ownership / replacement. Updating of deeds = £64
- Copy of each entry in the Burial register when death occurred more than five years before search = £40 + VAT
- Memorial seat with plaque - up to 90 letters = £1,443 + VAT
- Additional plaque (only) = £246 + VAT
- Memorial tree with plaque – up to 80 letters = £407 + VAT
Notes on charges for Loughborough residents, residents of Charnwood and non-Charnwood residents
In respect of the Fees and Charges set out under INTERMENTS and EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS, to ensure that residents who contribute towards the Loughborough Special Rate are recognised by an appropriate charge.
The following scale of fees applies:
Single Fees
- Anyone living in the Loughborough Council Tax area at the time of death.
- For residents living in care homes outside the area for less than twelve months prior to date of death, evidence must be provided by the Funeral Director/applicant to qualify for singles fees e.g. Council Tax bill.
Double Fees
- Anyone living elsewhere in the Borough of Charnwood at the time of death.
- For residents living in care homes outside the area for less than twelve months prior to date of death, evidence must be provided by the Funeral Director/applicant to qualify for singles fees e.g. Council Tax bill.
Treble Fees
- For all non-residents of the Borough of Charnwood.
