Residents in Leicester and its outlying areas, including Birstall, Thurmaston and Wanlip in Charnwood, are to be asked to continue to follow stricter lockdown restrictions for at least two weeks, and non-essential shops will be closed. More information - including frequently asked questions and a postcode checker - can be found at

After a food hygiene inspection you can request a re-visit if you did not receive the maximum rating of five and have carried out all the improvements in your inspection report.

Requesting a re-visit before the next scheduled visit to re-assess the premises will incur a fee of £150.

To request a re-visit please complete the form below.

The completed form should be returned to Charnwood Borough Council, Food Hygiene and Safety, Southfields, Southfield Road, Loughborough, LE11 2TX or emailed to

To pay the £150 fee for your re-inspection you can:

  • Pay online
  • Pay by telephone on 01509 634 656
  • or pay by cheque (please make cheques payable to Charnwood Borough Council)

Once you have applied for a re-inspection and paid, an officer will re-visit your premises within three months. The officer will give you a new rating based on the food hygiene standards they find at the time of this visit.

There are no limits to how many revisits you can have so if you do not achieve the maximum rating of five first time you could consider re-applying when you have carried out further improvements. However you will be charged £150 for each subsequent visit.
