Life after Loughborough – Journeys in Creative Writing. Three Alumni discuss their progression following their Creative Writing MA.
After completing both an undergraduate degree and MA in Creative Writing from Loughborough University, Natalie Moores spent the next five years building a successful marketing career in London, setting up marketing consultancy Mac&Moore with business partner Jess MacIntyre two years ago. Natalie regularly writes for The Huffington Post and her poetry has been published both in print and online in the UK and North America. She can usually be found trawling various London open mic nights performing spoken word on the subjects of modern day dating, the thigh gap, boshing the patriarchy and having Northern parents. Other interests include yoga and Sauvignon Blanc in equal measure.
After graduating from Loughborough, Lottie Huckle started working for Penguin Random House as a Creative Content Producer for PRH's consumer cookery brand, The Happy Foodie. Now Lottie works as a Marketing Manager for Ebury, part of PRH and publishers of Yotam Ottolenghi, Rick Stein, Caitlin Moran, Sheryl Sandberg, Chris Packham and more. She has also launched a pop-up bakery and kitchen, H&H, which specialises in artisanal baked goods and bespoke event catering. Lottie continues to perform spoken word poetry, writes fiction and writes editorial non-fiction for a range of publications and on her website www.lottiehuckle.co.uk.
Colette Stirling graduated from Loughborough in 2011 achieving an MA in Newspaper Journalism. She began working as a freelance journalist and secured a position as a News Editor on My Nintendo News in 2013. Since then, Colette has written more than 75 reviews across Nintendo's platforms - Wii U, 3DS and Switch. Colette is also Marketing Officer/Copywriter for the UK's largest reseller-only Cloud Services Distributor, Giacom. Since 2016, she has marketed the launch of a range of innovative products from vendors across the globe alongside tech giants such as Microsoft, Acronis, Symantec, Exclaimer and Bitdefender.
Loughborough University Arts Festival

This term sees the launch of a brand new Arts Festival at the University, celebrating the creative arts here on campus. There is a programme of FREE daytime and early evening events, talks and workshops featuring students' work, academics, alumni and invited guests. Speakers include internationally known artist Michael Landy, crime writer Kate Rhodes and Masterchef food critic/writer William Sitwell.
