Sat 14th September, 2019, 12pm to 1pm

Visit the Carillon Tower and War Memorial in Queen's Park on Saturday September 14, 2019 to see the completed conservation works to the bell chamber and find out about the planned redevelopment of the museum.

The Carillon Tower and War Memorial will be open on Saturday September 14, 2019 between 12pm-3pm as it takes part in the Heritage Open Days - England's largest festival of history and culture.

After completing £280,000 of conservation works to the bell chamber, windows and stonework, the Council is now working with the Loughborough Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum Trust to redevelop the museum ahead of the Carillon Tower’s centenary in 2023.

Come along and meet volunteers who are currently working on a funding application to improve the museum and find out more about their planned activities – they want your feedback!

Access to the ground floor will be between 12pm-3pm and visitors can climb the 138 steps to the viewing balcony for spectacular views of Loughborough and access the bell chamber which houses 47 bells inscribed with the names of their original donors.

Please note that the upper floors are not accessible for those with mobility problems and children (under 18s) must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
