Register for Council Tax

If you are new to Charnwood or liable to pay Council Tax for the first time you can set up an account.

• We’ll ask a series of questions about your new address to set up your account.
• We’ll also need an email address and contact number in case we need to get in touch.
• You’ll also be able to apply for single person discount at the same time, if this is applicable to you.
• You can opt in to receive your bills by email instead of post when you register.

When you enter the system, choose the Sign In/Register option.

What happens next?

When you register online, you can also set up a direct debit. This is an easy way to manage your payments.

Unless you have chosen to receive your bills by email during registration, you will get your Council Tax bill through the post.

You will then be able to manage your Council Tax online.
