We are launching a web chat trial on the Charnwood Borough Council website from Monday June 10, 2024.

The function will give our customers another channel to contact and interact with us.

It is initially being trialled on three sections of the website and will be operated by customer advisors so customers will be interacting with a real person, not a bot. These sections are:

The aim is to add the web chat service to other sections over time.

The web chat function will enable customer advisors to offer support to those accessing services through the website. This will include signposting webpages and online forms to customers who may be struggling to find information and services.

The service will operate during our opening hours of Monday-Friday, 9am until 4pm.

The web chat function is being provided by 8x8 Inc, a leading integrated cloud contact centre and unified communications platform provider that create digital chat services for public sector organisations.
