This is a large, open waterbody situated to the north west of Loughborough. It is situated next to Derby Road Playing Fields off Cotton Way, Loughborough, LE11 5FJ and is used mainly for general leisure purposes and angling.

There is a small car park by the Derby Road Playing Fields (LE11 5FJ) that is locked at dusk.

The pool is fringed by mature willow and alder trees and the area is particularly good for bird watching. There is a good, stone surfaced path which gives a circular walk around the pool.

Fishing is prohibited in the wildlife area to the eastern bank.
