Stonebow Washlands is in Thorpe Acre and is accessible from Mount Grace Road, off Maxwell Drive (Kinchbus no. 12 stops a short walk away on Maxwell Drive).

Created in the 1980s the main role of the Washlands is to provide flood alleviation, but it is also a rich wildlife site and provides informal recreation for local residents.

Stonebow Washlands is designated a Local Wildlife Site (previously known as Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation SINC).

Please be aware that there are no separate parking facilities for Stonebow Washlands.

However, there is pedestrian access only from the junction of Lindisfarne Drive and Mount Grace Road.
