We found and resolved a large number of issues during our estate walkabouts in 2022.

Landlord Services re-commenced the estate walkabouts last year and we wanted to let you know what we found at the walks and what we did about it.

Below is a table to show the details from the walks:

Thorpe Acre, Loughborough – May 19, 2022

One repair issue identified

Drainage issue outside Browning Road has been reported to Leicestershire County Council

Three grounds maintenance issues identified

Contractors attended on 21 June to make safe tree stump at Thorpe Acre Road communal area

Open Spaces Team have applied weed killer to remove the moss on the pavements on Thorpe Acre Road and moss has been scraped away.

Additional general waste bins have been delivered at the back of the Wordsworth Road flats.

Warwick Way Estate, Loughborough – June 22, 2022

Three garden issues identified

Letters issued on the day of the walk. Gardens will be re-inspected to confirm if issues resolved or if further action is required

Three repairs issues identified

Section of missing metal fence is to be replaced on boundary of Car Park at Lewis Road. Order has been raised for Repairs team

Section of communal fencing to be re-instated at the edge of Warwick Court. Order has been raised for Repairs Team.

Missing metal gate in front of 7 Epinal Court has been reported as an urgent repair and was made safe on August 5.

Nine fly-tipping incidents identified

All fly-tipped items identified during the estate walk have now been removed.

Four grounds maintenance issues identified

Contractors will be visiting to assess and remove overhanging tree branches at corner of Milton Street and Pevensey Road.

Open spaces team have strimmed overgrown foliage in the circular planters around the scheme.

Shrubs that were blocking the windows at the Warwick Court flats have been trimmed.

Contractors have attended and weed sprayed bindweed

Bell Foundry, Loughborough – August 9, 2022

Down pipe repairs at Chapman Street reported to repairs

One fly-tipping issue identified

Mixed builders waste on Peel Drive car park has now been removed

Three grounds maintenance issues identified

Shrub and bush cutting work at Peel Drive has been arranged.

Query about bins and recycling issues has been investigated, bin emptying is occurring as normal.

Query regarding kerbing round trees on Chapman Street impairing wheeled progress on paths reported to repairs.

Leicester Road, Mountsorrel – September 8, 2022

Bottom flats – job has been raised for repairs to address poor drainage

Job has been raised for all gutters to be cleaned

Job has been raised to replace loose tile on steps in communal hallway and handrail

Fire damage to balcony outside repaired

Job has been raised for repairs to address issues with brickwork

Repair job has been booked in to deal with cracks to plasterwork

Chestnut Court:

Job has been raised to repair/replace loose slab in the communal pathway

Hawthorn Road:

Job has been raised for repairs to deal with bowing retaining wall 

Job raised for overgrown hedge to be trimmed

Overgrown foliage at garage site has been inspected by the maintenance of spaces team

Garage site on Blenheim Road – maintenance of spaces team will be arranging ongoing management of foliage

Concerns regarding access to garage sites has been raised with the local Parish Council
