Green Flag Photo

As a council we are committed to providing high quality services and take pride in making sure that our parks and open spaces are well maintained and meet the needs of the people who use them.

Our parks and green spaces contribute to the character of our towns, villages and parishes.

They offer wonderful opportunities for leisure, sports, festivals, events and play, while at the same time providing a habitat for local wildlife.

Maintaining our green spaces

It’s important that green spaces are maintained well and we’re able to measure our success in achieving these quality standards and real customer satisfaction.

To do this, we have introduced a new document, the Output Specification, which includes a set of maintenance standards that we will apply to our work.

Open spaces, sport and recreation facilities consultation, 2009

We carried out a study to find out whether the current level of open space, sport and recreation facilities in Charnwood met the needs of our people.

The findings of this study have been used to influence decisions on how and where your money will be spent on local open spaces, sport and recreation facilities.
