Outline permission (P/14/1833/2) was granted in July 2018 and reserved matters for the design and layout of the first parcels of residential land were granted in 2021 with Phase 1a providing 217 dwellings (P/20/0515/2) and Phase 1b/1c providing 251 dwellings (P/20/2187/2).
Discharge of conditions applications have been received to agree details required by the relevant planning permissions. Details of the various submissions are included under Planning Applications with details currently being considered in relation to pre-commencement requirements.
An application has also been received to agree the details of a temporary access from the A6 for construction of the first phases of the development. Details for this are considered under application referenced P/22/0251/2.
Persimmon and William Davis have made available a website to provide further background on the development of Garendon Park. The website is www.garendoncountrypark.com.

Community Liaison Group
The developers have set up a Community Liaison Group (CLG) consisting of representatives from local community groups, including a representative of the owners of the land, Charnwood Borough Council, Leicester County Council, Hathern Parish Council, Shepshed Town Council, the appointed management company (when created prior to commencement) and representatives of such other groups as the Borough Council and the owner may approve from time to time.
The role of this group is defined in the Section 106 agreement (Schedule 3, paragraph 10 and Schedule 3, Annex 2) to act as ‘an open line of communication with the communities most affected by the Development’.
The group is required to meet on a quarterly basis (or as agreed by members) during construction and for 6 months following completion of the development. The first meeting of the CLG was held in April 2019.
