The Environmental Health service is made up of two core teams:
The commercial team
The commercial team covers food safety and hygiene, combining prevention and education as well as an enforcement, to safeguard standards across food establishments and investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases.
Health and safety is a key role for this team which works to ensure safe working conditions. The team also provides a range of other services including private water supplies,.
The environmental protection team
The environmental protection team is responsible for monitoring air quality, investigating noise nuisance, smoke, dust, odours and other pollution, controlling pollution from industrial processes and dealing with contaminated land.
