How to pay your rent

Council tenants have a lot of flexibility and choice when it comes to paying their rent.

Below we have listed the ways you can pay.

Online

You can pay your rent online using your Credit or Debit card through our Online Payment Service. This service offers secure payments, in conjunction with HSBC Bank, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Direct Debit

The simplest way to set up a direct debit is to complete the information online. To do this, click on the link below and let the income team do the rest:

Alternatively, you can print out the Direct Debit mandate and send it to us at:

The following dates will be available to pay your rent by Direct Debit:

• Weekly
• Every two weeks
• Every four weeks
• Monthly

This means you won't have to remember to pay your rent.

Standing order

We can provide you with the details to set up a standing order with your bank or building society. Unlike a direct debit, if your rent payments need to change you will have to change your payment with the bank. Call us on 01509 634666.

Plastic swipe card

You can pay your rent at any Post Office or Paypoint using your AllPay plastic swipe card. If you have lost your swipe card or require another one, please contact the Housing Income Team on 01509 634666.

Credit or Debit card

Opening hours for this service are:

• 9am to 4pm Monday through to Friday

You can make payments using your debit or credit card. Payments can be made by calling 01509 634666 and quoting your rent account details.

Alternatively you can call our automated payment line, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, on 01509 634555. Payments can also be made by debit card at Customer Services in the Charnwood Borough Council offices.

Register with Clockwise Credit Union

In partnership with Clockwise Credit Union we offer a Clockwise Rent account as an alternative method of paying your rent.
