On February 26 2018, Charnwood Borough Council approved a recommendation to amend rents and charges for Council properties with effect from April 2, 2018.

The proposed changes are in line with government rent guidelines which for this year means that the rent will be decreased by 1%. Service charges, where applicable, may increase.

Service charges

These are identified separately on your letter and cover the cost of any service you receive. These charges may include heating and a charge for communal facilities. If you would like a breakdown of these charges, please contact us 01509 634666.

Housing Benefit

Depending on your circumstances you may be able to apply for Housing Benefit to help pay your rent. To claim you should contact the Housing Benefit team on 0345 6091258 or you can apply online.
