The Try a Trade Scheme offers market traders their first day of trading for free and thereafter the following 50% discount for 12 weeks.
Full details and terms and conditions below:
- Existing Casual Trader fee is currently £25 per attendance, totaling £300 payment over the 12 weeks
- Try a Trade = £12.50 per attendance to be invoiced for the first 6 weeks (£75). Upon receipt of payment, a start date will be confirmed. The second invoice will be issued 6 weeks later
- This gives traders a potential saving of £150 over 12 weeks
- The fees are based on current casual market trader fees and charges during Covid.
To qualify for the Try a Trade scheme, traders must be setting up a brand-new business as a sole trader and are not trading elsewhere.
Traders are obliged to continue trading for the full 13 weeks – and after successfully completing the trial, can be transferred to our Casual Trader status.
Any trader wishing to terminate their attendance under the Try a Trade Scheme before the 8 consecutive week period has expired or to be absent from trading for any other reason must notify the markets office by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances, including any cancelled markets by the council.
