On December 15, 2016 Charnwood Borough Council "made" the Thurcaston and Cropston Neighbourhood Plan part of Charnwood Borough Council's Development Plan, in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

Thurcaston and Cropston Neighbourhood Examiner's Report
On August 24, 2016 the Examiner submitted his report to the Borough Council. The Report finds the plan capable of being ‘made’ subject to a number of recommended modifications and a successful referendum.
Officers have reviewed the Examiner’s recommendations and are in agreement that all the modifications should be made before the plan is subjected to a referendum. The Parish Council formally accepted the modifications at their meeting on September 16, 2016.
The Council must prepare a “decision statement” setting out that we are satisfied that the basic conditions have been met and that we are happy for the Plan to proceed to referendum. Once we have taken this decision we must also publish the decision statement and the Examiner’s Report together with details of where and when they can be inspected.
The Borough Council considers that the Thurcaston and Cropston Neighbourhood Plan, as modified to incorporate the Examiner’s recommendations, should proceed to referendum. The date on which the referendum took take place was November 24, 2016.

Examination
The Thurcaston and Cropston Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to Charnwood Borough Council for examination on May 31, 2016.
The formal consultation period ended on July 27, 2016 and all representations made on the Plan were forwarded to the independent Examiner who undertook the examination of the Thurcaston and Cropston Neighbourhood Plan.
