Sileby Neighbourhood Plan

Residents in Leicester and its outlying areas, including Birstall, Thurmaston and Wanlip in Charnwood, are to be asked to continue to follow stricter lockdown restrictions for at least two weeks, and non-essential shops will be closed. On January 16, 2020 Charnwood Borough Council "made" the Sileby Neighbourhood Plan part of Charnwood Borough Council's development plan, in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

A referendum was held on Thursday November 21, 2019 when the question was  asked: “Do you want Charnwood Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Sileby to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Following an independent Examination, Charnwood Borough Council has determined that the Sileby Neighbourhood Plan, as modified to incorporate the Examiner’s recommendations, should proceed to Referendum. Further details of this decision can be found in the decision statement below:

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) the Sileby Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents were submitted to Charnwood Borough Council for the purpose of consultation, examination and, if appropriate, a referendum ahead of it being ‘made’ (adopted) as part of the local plan for the area.

The Sileby Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents were submitted to Charnwood Borough Council and the Plan was formally consulted upon for a period of 6 weeks. An examination was held and the examiner, Mr Richard High has now published his report:
