Housing and other advice for older and vulnerable people

Below are a number of support and advice services available to older and vulnerable people within Charnwood, which offer assistance on care and support, housing and pensions.

Age UK provide help and information to people aged 50 and over.

Charnwood Lifeline

Lifeline is a service that supports independent living and provides peace of mind. The service comprises of:

  • monitoring/alert call emergency response 24 hours per day 7 days a week every week
  • on call warden 24 hours per day 7 days a week every week
  • a wearable pendant or wristband, alarm unit and key safe
  • gives increased independence, confidence and security in the comfort of your own home
  • managed by Charnwood Borough Council

Support and advice on a huge range of important services, for disabled and older people, and their families and carers.

The Papworth Trust's 'Warm Home, Healthy Homes' scheme allows for those people who do not have central heating, access to a fire or any way to keep warm to receive a free emergency heater.

Which? Later Life Care is a source of free and independent information and advice on care choices for older people across the UK. It's a not-for-profit branch of Which? and will always be completely free to use. They provide in depth information around housing options for older people, financing care, information for carers themselves and lots more.
